Job Role: Partnerships and Fundraising Manager - Deadly Runners

$95,000 (pro rata)
Part time position (21 hours)
12 months (6-month probation period)

Deadly Runners is a 100% Indigenous owned and operated social enterprise. We use running as as a vehicle to create long-term change, invest in our mob while keeping culture at the forefront.

Deadly Runners is experiencing growth. We are seeking a Partnerships and Funding Manager who is self-motivated and adept at securing government and philanthropic funding, building strategic partnerships, and developing processes and systems to support our expansion.
Duties and Responsibilities
Funding Acquisition
  • Research, identify, and pursue government grants, philanthropic funding, and other financial opportunities that support Deadly Runners’ mission.
  • Write and submit compelling grant proposals and funding applications, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s objectives.
  1. Partnership Development
  • Identify, cultivate, and manage strategic partnerships with government bodies, non-profit organisations, and private sector entities.
  • Negotiate and manage partnership agreements, ensuring mutual benefits and alignment with Deadly Runners’ goals.
  • Explore collaborative opportunities that enhance Deadly Runners’ programs and services.
  1. Innovation and Continuous Improvement
  • Stay informed of trends in social enterprise, government funding, and philanthropy, adapting strategies as needed.
  • Drive innovation within Deadly Runners by identifying new funding models, partnership opportunities, and process improvements.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance funding strategies, processes, and systems to ensure alignment with organisational goals.
Skills and Qualifications and Attributes:
  • Cultural Competency: Thorough understanding of the issues faced by First Nations communities and commitment to working with them in a culturally appropriate manner.
  • Self-Motivation: Proactive, driven, and capable of independently identifying and pursuing funding and partnership opportunities.
  • Fundraising Expertise: Proven experience in securing government grants, philanthropic funding, and or sales experience and building strategic partnerships.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in proposal writing, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Relationship Management: Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with funders, partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Vaues : Align with Deadly Runners values ( Integrity, transparency respect, and trust)
We are Seeking:
A proactive and organised individual with:
  • Proven experience in fundraising, philanthropy, or business development
  • Proven ability to meet financial targets through strategic planning and relationship building.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; capable of working independently and in a team.
