I was almost 50, overweight with the chronic condition of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) diagnosed at 38 with a negative attitude to match. Why on earth would I do this running program? I asked myself many times!
I was not really sure if I could do this, if it would impact badly on my health given my condition, but I was coached by Georgia to start at the beginning, focus on my own journey and to be consistent (turn up). I still have RA but I can live with that better when my other health factors are going strong
From those humble beginnings now move forward 4 years and I have run 2 half-marathons! My mental health has improved remarkably, I am more positive and realise that I can achieve through discipline and by getting outside of my comfort zone. My blood pressure has reduced along with my heart rate.
Georgia is much more than a coach, she is a friend who changed my life for the better in the most unexpected way.
